Ingram Lawn & Garden customers be prepared for constant reminders from me to include grub control as part of your regular annual lawn maintenance. Best time to apply grub control products are between mid April and mid May. Grubs are infant beetles which live within the soil until they reach maturity. They begin as eggs laid in the spring and emerge in late summer mostly as Japanese Beetles. Grubs will destroy your plant roots so its important to eliminate them before they begin to mature and eat. Pre-emergent grub control is applied mid-April to mid-May and post emergent in late summer. These preventive measures will eliminate as much as 90% of the potential damage so the chemicals do work. If your lawn is left untreated it can be devastating. I cannot count the number of properties we were on last season which had severe damage from grubs including my own. Please do your lawn a favor and have us apply grub control. It typically cost a little higher than a typical lawn application but well worth it. Correcting the damage from untreated lawns is far more expensive. So…..send me a note and I will add grub control to your property. I will be sending out several reminders prior to the application date.
